Therapy can be fun for children.
Children are particularly susceptible to injury, and their treatment and rehabilitation require a great deal of skill and patience. The pediatric specialists at Nassau Rehabilitation welcome this challenge, and employ every bit of their knowledge and experience to make the process a positive experience for the children. Children require a gentle and unique approach when it comes to physical therapy. Their natural instinct is to play. Quite often we can take advantage of that willingness, and incorporate specific exercise protocols into games and playtime activities. Nassau Rehabilitation is recognized as a primary treatment center for a condition found in newborns known as Congenital Torticollis. This abnormality is caused by the tightening of the neck muscles resulting in a great deal of discomfort when a child turns his head. This can translate into further physiological development problems. During treatment, we ask parents to participate and assume much of the responsibility for the infant’s progress between office visits. This course of treatment developed at Nassau Rehabilitation has achieved an exceptional success rate with children and parents who comply with the rigorous, but effective, exercise program. Top

Healing through treatment, counseling and support.
Our primary function at Nassau Rehabilitation & Sports Therapy is to confirm your diagnosis, recommend of a course of therapy, treat any accompanying pain and inflammation, and ultimately, implement a proper exercise program for your specific injury or disability. Our secondary purpose is to counsel patients during the rehabilitation process. Quite often we recommend that a patient obtain a second opinion, inquire about more aggressive medical options, and even pursue psychological counseling in support of the rehabilitation process. We offer an Aftercare Program for the continuation of treatment after insurance coverage has expired and often assist patients with the acquisition of rehabilitation aids such as braces, walkers, and home exercise equipment.
